Any Kenyan adult (18+) with a mobility disability who can safely operate or direct the operation of a motorbike carrier. That includes lower-limb and upper-limb mobility impairments, spinal cord injuries, amputees, polio and post-polio, and cerebral palsy. You do not need prior motorbike experience — we assess your route plan, not your résumé.

No. Applying is free. Verification is free. Fundraising is done by the community on your behalf. The carrier is transferred to you at no cost. We never ask a beneficiary for money at any stage.

A national ID or passport, a disability registration card (or a letter from a recognized disability organization), and a phone number we can reach you on. If you have a birth certificate it helps, but it is not required.

You own it. Once your campaign reaches its target and your carrier is customized, delivered, and accepted, ownership is legally transferred to you. It is not leased, not rented, and not held as collateral. There are no monthly payments.

Verification usually takes two to three weeks. Fundraising depends on your campaign — some reach target in a few weeks, others take several months. We never close a campaign before it reaches target unless you ask us to.

We will tell you exactly why, in plain language, and what would change the outcome. Some applicants are asked for more information; some are referred to a partner organization better suited to their needs. A rejection is not permanent — you can reapply.

Only if you agree. You control what appears on your campaign page. Many beneficiaries choose to share their name and story; some do not, and that is fine. Your ID documents and medical information are never public at any point.

A motorbike carrier customized to your mobility needs and your intended use — passenger transport, deliveries, market goods, water vending, farm produce, or school runs. The exact specification is agreed with you before procurement.

Directly to the campaign you choose. Funds are held by MOBIpawa and released to procurement once the campaign reaches target. You can see the asset purchased, the customization, and the handover — with photos and dates — on the campaign page.

Yes. Tick "Donate anonymously" on the contribution form. Your name will not appear on the campaign page, and the beneficiary will not see it either. The organisation still keeps a private record for audit purposes.

MOBIpawa is a registered Kenyan organisation. Deductibility depends on your jurisdiction and filing status. Contact us for a receipt suitable for your tax authority.

Yes. Browse active campaigns on the campaigns page and contribute to a specific person, or contribute to the general fund which is allocated to the next beneficiary in need.

Funds remain dedicated to that beneficiary. The campaign stays open, and MOBIpawa works with partners to close the gap. If for any reason a campaign is cancelled, contributions to it are either refunded or, with the donor's consent, redirected to another beneficiary.

Every campaign is tied to a verified beneficiary whose identity and disability status have been checked against official documents. Every payment is processed through DPO, a regulated payment provider. Every material action — approval, allocation, delivery, transfer — is written to an append-only audit log.

Three models: sponsor a single named carrier (KES ~200,000), co-fund a cohort of 5–20 beneficiaries in a county or category (KES 1M–4M), or refer applicants through a trusted community channel at no cost. See the partners page for details.

A quarterly program report (PDF), read-only access to a live dashboard covering every campaign your funds touch, optional public sponsor attribution on campaign pages and handover certificates, and exportable audit trails.

Yes. Cohort partnerships can be scoped by county, disability type, livelihood category, or a combination. We agree the selection criteria with you before applications are shortlisted.

"Mobi" for mobility, and "pawa" — Swahili for power. Mobility is power. The name says what we believe: that access becomes mobility, mobility becomes ownership, ownership becomes opportunity, opportunity becomes income, and income becomes independence.
